Veni, vidi, vici.....
Subtitle: The taking of South Beach in four days
The Countess arrived on South Beach after about a five hour delay at the airport. Mrs. Astor and her court had left The Palace due to the extreme weather conditions....temperature around 50 degrees. Here is the Countess duBarry still in her winter gear from the frozen tundra and Black & Tan Mark in his winter leather. The cutie behind the bar is Carlos who welcomed me with open arms and a glass of scotch on the rocks to keep me warm.

We met up with Mr. and Mrs. Astor and Ricky for lunch the next day. As you can see, they are still bundled up for the cold temperatures in the high 60's. It was balmy breezes as far as I was concerned. We sat at an outdoor table on the Palace sidewalk with the sun shining down on us.

Motorcycle Chris drove up in his Harley. He is a mechanic for American Airlines by night and the Cruiser of South Beach by day. A total sweetheart!

The Palace has new owners which you know about if you have been following Mrs. Astor's blog. Ken is the new General Manager. The Countess knows that you have to conquer the kings and the peasants will follow.

Mr. And Mrs. Astor hopped on their bicycles and left to pretty themselves up for dinner that night.

We had a great dinner at Van Dyke's on Lincoln Road. Here is the Queen Mother with Mark, Leo, Alexis, and the Countess duBarry.

Mrs. Astor and I can never meet without a small Battle of the Jewels. I won this skirmish with a diamond bracelet and watch as well as the sapphire and diamond rings. Mrs. Astor could only come up with two rings to counter.

Officer Brian and I headed off to Twist to dance the night away. On the way we met up with the adorable Travis who has become one of my most faithful courtiers. I think I made it back to the castle around 3 am but Brian, Travis, and rest of the court were still dancing away! How I love the nightlife on South Beach!
And so ended the first day in South Beach. Stay tuned for more fun and pictures....
