JOY, the play

One of the plays that I saw recently while in New York City was a wonderful play, JOY, at the Actors' Playhouse located at 100 7th Ave.So.

JOY, by John Fisher, is mainly the story of a gay man and his trials and tribulations in search of love and happiness. Set in San Francisco during the 1990s, Paul finds love and loses it but realizes at the end that he is capable of having a relationship so there is hope. There is another subplot involving the relationship of two young lesbian women; courtship, meeting the parents, living together, and breaking up and making up.

The play involved song, dance, comedy and drama. The actors were well cast in their roles and all had a lot of credentials. The props and scenery were just enough to evoke the mood but not overpowering; which is to my taste. I laughed and cried which I consider to be the height of success for a theater production.

Finally, A Communique!

My dahlings!

I can't tell you of the nightmare that I have lived these past few months. You know me as Countess Bedelia and have perhaps wondered where I have been. I'll tell you where I have been! In Blogger Hell!! That's where.

I have been trying to post to my Countess Bedelia blog and my Dashboard disappeared. I pleaded, I commanded, I demanded; all to no avail. I could never get back into my Dashboard. I'm telling you, it is a symptom of my life today. Always a big production up front and then no push from behind....ahem, where was I?

So here I am once again. We will try again at this blogger thing. If they don't cooperate, I will get my friend, Mrs. Astor, to send in the 7th Gay Calvary and The Imperial Guard. If that fails, I will call on Mrs. Astor, herself, to save the day.

Apple-tini

1 part Smirnoff Green Apple Vodka
1 part DeKuyper Sour Apple Pucker

Shake over ice in cocktail shaker. Pour into chilled martini glass. Garnish with salted crisp green apple slice.

Delicious!!!

I order Apple-tinis for all the courtesans, court jesters, and court gay bois.
