Castle Cleaning and other ruminations...

The Countess spent the past few days at the Castle Bedelia getting things in order after being away at the Summer Palace. It is amazing how things can get into a mess. The servants have something to answer to!!!! There was the general cleaning and sorting. Too bad we didn't have Cinderella to take care of things.

Because I was missing my own personal Cinderella, I took the best little grandaughter in all the world to see Cinderella, the Ballet, at the Wang Theatre in Boston.

What a magnificent production! We especially liked when Cinderella was delivered to the Ball in her beautiful pumpkin coach. She descended from the ceiling in her pumpkin coach and the audience went wild!!!

We loved the ballet and enjoyed the evening. As usual with this over the top Granny, we go from ballet to burlesque in one fell swoop....

Tonight I finally got to see 'Naked Boys Singing' on Here!TV. I've always just missed it in NYC. What a fun and poignant production. It takes some guts to get out on the stage completely naked and sing and dance. It probably shouldn't....but it does. I was just in a discussion with my granddaughter about nudity and why it causes problems sometimes. It seems to me that the USA is so negative on sexuality, nudity, and freedom of expression. It is like we are still held to Victorian morality. I'm sure there are many professional studies about this but IMO it's just all bullshit. In the end we are all bodies; we all have the same parts....what is shameful in the freedom of expression of the human body?

But I like this Shelley Winters quote:

"I think on-stage nudity is disgusting, shameful and damaging to all things American. But if I were 22 with a great body, it would be artistic, tasteful, patriotic and a progressive religious experience."

hmmmm....wouldn't we all, at 22?

You didn't tell what was found (or left) in the dungeon.
My dungeon is pretty tame compared to yours...How is Thomas doing these days?
