And down the rabbit hole went Alice......
Visiting the Summer Palace in Winter can bring some surprises.....like snow! The Summer Palace turned into a beautiful Ice Palace overnight.

Such a surprise to leave a warm and toasty tavern and see snow on Baby Beamer.

The Countess spent a delightful evening at Shakespeare & Co. sipping wine, eating little canapes, and watching a play reading of David Black's An Impossible Life. A highlight for me was having Lori Singer in the cast. She starred opposite Kevin Bacon in the iconic movie "Footloose". And for you fans of HBO's The Sopranos, Ray Abruzzo who played "Little Carmine" also had a role. The evening was a great success for the theater company, getting over 300 people to come out and enjoy the theater during the cold winter season in the Berkshires, and raising funds for the theater.

The whole bar was up dancing and having a ball!

My gal pal Shelley was enjoying a cocktail and keeping The Countess laughing.
Dan, an accountant from New Hampshire and a classic corvette collector, stopped in with his wife for a cocktail. He said that The Countess reminded him of Queen Mary!!

I met up with some of my Berkshire Theatre Festival friends, Erin, Ricky, and Stew. A big "Congratulations!!" to Ricky Fromeyer on being named Artist in Residence at the Theater. Ricky is also appearing in their production of A Christmas Carol. Get over there to see it if you are in the area.

Rumpy's Tavern was jumping over the weekend. J.Craze registered a complaint that he never makes it into my blog; so here he is with The Countess.

Of course, be careful what you wish for because by the end of the night he had stripped down to his underwear and was go-go dancing to the amusement of the rest of the bar.

Steve, the general manager of Shakespeare & Co., dropped in after the play reading with his friend Bill, a teacher by day and bartender by night over at Cork and Hearth. I've been meaning to check out that restaurant and now that I know how cute Bill is, I will have to stop by soon.

Troy in his command post behind the bar keeps the action going at "Rumpy's, Your new favorite bar!".

We left the tavern with The Countess official portrait in its new frame, presiding over the action at Rumpy's with regal benevolence. I love to see my subjects laughing, dancing, and having a good time.

Countess!
What the hell have you done to the Berkshires?
What started to look like a quaint little bar has turned into a 1200 Ocean Drive! Splendid. Keep up the good work.

Ian, the "official portrait" is all thanks to you and your magic photoshop!!!! *kisses*
Mr. B....How nice to see you comment. You must really be climbing out of that grave...haha! Yes, Rumpy's is very lively when The Countess makes an appearance. You know how it is!

Countess, if you continue to have such an effect on these boys, clothing will become a thing of the past......looking forward to your next visit to SoBe. ;D

, at Vickie
I knew it would come to this: enticing innocent boys to take off their clothes and dance the Watuzi with you. Have you no decency left?
...oh, and Leopoldo askes why don't you use purple on the table of the shrine instead of black. "It's rather harsh."
Mrs. Astor, The Countess duBarry has already informed me that the Council of Countesses are meeting in Paris to censure me once again. A waste of effort as you can see!
Tell Leopoldo that I will speak to the management about the shrine...and give him a big kiss from me....yummy!
