A few of "My Favorite Things", Chapter One

"Raindrops on roses and whiskers on kittens
Bright copper kettles and warm woolen mittens
Brown paper packages tied up with strings
These are a few of my favorite things..."

I haven't been home at the Castle Bedelia very much this past year. It seems that I am always traveling somewhere and just returning to the Castle to regroup and get ready for another trip. So the other day I just walked around, reacquainting myself with my home, and snapping pictures of some of my favorite things. Let's start with bathrooms.......

The Powder Room....
When I was designing my home and going over plans with my plumber, Peter, he said that the Powder Room should be extra special because it was the one bathroom that every guest would probably see. One day he called me up and told me to come down to a store to see a particular piece of marble that he thought was just perfect for the vanity countertop.

It is the most beautiful shade of pink. I wish the camera did it justice but the flash seems to wash out the color.

And then a friend gave me this little sign to hang on the wall. Perfecto!!

The Spa Bath.....

The Spa Bath is a wonderful place to relax. Just pour a glass of wine, put the New Age disc in the CD player, light the candles, and turn the Jacuzzi jets on........Ahhhhhhh!

There are lots of bubble bath and bath salts to pick from. The lavender muscle relaxant is one of my favorites.

As a lead in to Christmas, I'll post about a few more of my favorite things around the house over the next couple of weeks. This is a good time of year to remind yourself to be thankful for the things you already have instead of wishing for what you don't.

Good suggestion: be grateful for what we have. Nice powder room btw...I think I "went" in there. : )
I need to check out your jacuzzi bathtub - my renovations start in January and the baths get an overhaul!
*waves to Rick*....Yes, you did visit the Castle once. Mark is coming back this weekend. We should get together again.

Mark, The Spa awaits you!
Excuse me, but is that a "boom box"?
Mrs. Astor, It doesn't make much of a "boom",so I don't think it qualifies for that title. But it does run on batteries, if that applies. It is perfect for a small room and zen musaaaak.
