Back to the Blog....

The Countess was having so much fun in the Berkshires this past weekend that I never did upload my pictures and make a post. I'm going back to the last two posts from New York City and adding pictures to them. I am home at the Castle Bedelia tonight and planning on having a quiet night for a change. I realized that I have been out partying for the past six out of seven nights. Even The Countess needs to rest some time!

On Friday night I went to see "I Am My Own Wife", starring Vince Gatton at the Barrington Stage Co. in Pittsfield. Vince was fantastic in this one man play. A wonderful night of theater. I went with Andrew who owns the beautiful inn, Harrison House. He had a lovely spread of cheese and crackers waiting when I arrived. This is a section of the porch in front of the house. Check out his website and make a reservation to stay there some day. It is absolutely beautiful and unique.

After the play I went over to Michael's in Stockbridge. Lots of local friends came in and also many of the people working at the Berkshire Theatre Festival. I had a chance to talk with Anders Cato, the director of the Main Stage production, Candide, which is opening on June 21st and also met Samantha Soule and Finn Wittrock who play the young actors in the play. Looks like another winner for BTF so get your tickets and go and see it.

Here is The Countess with Tom, Brianne (the singing bartender!), and Megsy out in the courtyard...

And Sean, who runs the karaoke, had fun with this picture on his MySpace page...

Saturday night was Rumpy's Tavern night. I met a new friend, Linda, who is a teacher in the area....

This James bought drinks for everyone....

This James is a soccer coach from England, here for the summer....

The next night was Open Mike. Jenn, the Village Inn manager, Connie Boyle, and Goss entertained us. Jenn has a beautiful singing voice. She sang Summertime.

Rolfe, who is working at the Berkshire Theatre Festival this summer, also took the mike. He is a wonderful singer and entertainer. Come back on Sunday nights, Rolfe, you were great!

And my best Berkshire pal, Sir Stew, First Knight of the Berkshires, was there.

And here is Prince Troy demonstrating his anger that some of the patrons snuck their own beer into Rumpy's. That is not nice, boys and girls. Prince Troy might pull up the drawbridge and let the alligators into the moat the next time you show up there.

All in all, a very fun weekend.

If The Countess is taking a rest, then the whole countryside will be able to sigh with relief and new supplies of Glenlivet will be able to stay on the shelves.
I miss Rumpy's -- Hi Troy!

Countess, is it true that the Berkshires are as beautiful in September as they are in May??
:-)
Mrs. Astor, I do believe there is no fear of Glenlivet supplies running low in the Berkshires as long as The Countess is in residence at the Summer Palace.

Mark, Troy was sad that you didn't call him ;)

and the Berkshires are beautiful even in the winter if you like that sort of thing...

me, I prefer Miami in January any day.
