Summertime and the livin' is easy....

The summer has started to settle into a routine that includes Friday night karaoke at Michael's of Stockbridge. The night doesn't usually get going until after the theaters get out and then all the kids come pouring in to sing their hearts out.

A week ago my Australian friend Marisa came for a visit. Isn't she a beauty? She spent a couple of days in the Berkshires before heading off to New York City and then back to Australia.

Princess Alice came for a state visit but she is camera shy so her pictures will remain in the vault. Marisa, Alice, and The Countess had a delicious dinner at Sullivan Station in Lee before heading over to Michael's.

The Countess sang with The Lavanigans.....

And the crowd went wild.....

Natalia was having a ball....

The next night we were invited to attend a cocktail party on a beautiful estate high on a hill looking over the countryside. Of course, the sight I was most interested in was the very handsome Michael.....the chef/bartender who served us wonderful cocktails.....

After the party, we all went to the Berkshire Theatre Festival for opening night of "Prisoner of Second Avenue". This funny, funny play only has one more week to run, so get your tickets and see it this week!

Sunday was the fabulous Gala at The Mount, Edith Wharton's restored summer home. The party was to benefit the education and scholarship programs which Berkshire Theatre Festival runs year round and to honor Betsy McKearnan for her tireless work in sponsoring these programs.

The Countess ordered a new gown and the jewels came out of the vault......

We had a lovely time getting to know our table mates, Larry and Dick. They reside in Ft. Lauderdale in the winter and are looking forward to partying with The Countess at Ditmar's Karnival Bar. Dick was so taken by my title that he crowned himself The Count. Welcome to the Northern Court, my good sir!

At the silent auction I managed to win the bid on a signed Norman Rockwell print. This will be hung in the Grand Hall of the Castle Bedelia with my other Rockwell pictures.

The cast of Candide entertained us on the terrace with a selection of songs from the show......

Quite a lovely night.

The whole weekend flew by and it was time for Princess Alice to depart for her own palace. We had a great visit. She took the itinerary home with her because she couldn't believe all the places we went and things we did in just three days. She really isn't used to The Countess Merry-Go-Round!!
